My friends and I decided to take a quicj group trip together to Amsterdam! We took a night flight and arrived to Amsterdam late into the evening. Our first stop was FEBO, a popular fast food restaurant. We tried Dutch food such as croquettes, friets, and bitterballen. We started our first full day at Albert Cuypmarket, which is the largest and most famous market in Amsterdam. There were tons of stalls full of souvenirs, food, flowers, and goods. Of course, we had to try stroopwafel, which was so delicious! After that, we strolled along the many canals and enjoyed the sites around us. Then we headed to Fabel Friet, and had the most delicious parmesan and truffle mayo fries.
Since we took just a short two day trip, I started the next day early and solo. I headed back to the Albert Cuypmarket to do some souvenir shopping. I also got to try a shrimp bao bun and siomai at two local food stalls there. Then I decided to go to walk around and see some of the famous sites, such as Anne Frank's House and the Fault in Our Stars Bench. I met up with my friends later in the day and we headed to the Van Gogh and Rembrandt in Amsterdam. This was a cool immersive experience with stunning art, telling the story about Rembrandt's influence on Van Gogh during his time in Amsterdam. The experience took place in Noorderkerk Church, where Van Gogh actually went to while he lived there. We ended our day having pho to warm ourselves up from the cold weather.
We had an morning flight, so we started our day very early to head to the airport. We actually got to see snow fall while waiting for the bus! Amsterdam is such a beautiful city and I had such an amazing time exploring it.
